Carcinogens.

"You can't let your dog crap on the sidewalk, but it's perfectly acceptable to blow carcinogens down other peoples throats. Somewhere along the way, smokers exempted themselves from the social contract."
- from "This Is Where I Leave You" by Jonathan Tropper.

I have had a marvellous time reading this book. Now that its over I feel a little lost but I'm excited for whatever I read next.

Infinite.

We're almost one month in to the eleventh year of the century. War and Peace is two hundred and twenty one pages in. My patchwork quilt is countless pieces of hand sewed stitches away. The sun rises and falls and we get library cards in between. Borrowing, returning. Borrowing, returning.
Lella, informed me today that Mishka is twenty two months old. Seeing him sitting in a cafe drinking babyccinos and waving to strangers, its quite odd when I actually think about how fast time has gone.
Life just isn't relaxing without my easy-listening radio station. Nothing can calm me down like some instrumentals and some classic tunes.
Oh boy!
"It's all vanity, it's all an illusion, everything except that infinite sky"
-War and Peace, Tolstoy.
I need to get cracking on that reading list.

Moss.

Embarking on an adventure is both exhilarating and frightful all at the same time. I hope I can be shiny when I start film school. I hope I can make some friends.
"A word of kindness is better than a fat pie", I'm always hungry, but kindness is sustenance too.

Brain and roses.

"This film is not of today or of the future.
It tells of no place.
It serves no tendency, party or class.
It has a moral that grows on the pillar of understanding:
'The mediator between brain and muscle must be heart'"
-Thea Bon Harbou from Metropolis.

Glossary dreams.

"I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying" -Oscar Wilde.

I am confused, feeling like goldfish in a maze. Lets just flip to the back of the book to find the answers, or at least a glossary.

Surround me with paper.

I. Love. Books.
I recently purchased 'Of The Abuse Of Words' by John Locke. Its quite fascinating, according to Mr. Locke, 'If a man thinks without knowing it, the sleeping and waking man are two persons'. How insightful!

Like birds of a feather.

The twilight hour.

"the general impression I desire to convey is of a side door crashing open in life's full flight, and a rush of roaring black time drowning with its whipping wind the cry of lone disaster"
-from Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita.

It feels good.

... to twist the night away. I have never been dancing. I haven't done a lot of things that I thought I would have by this age.
T. S. Eliot and Tennyson have a power of words over me that I cannot explain. Sam Cooke makes me feel that there is love. Disrespected books make me want to weep. My ability to make tasty guacamole makes me proud.

"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead" - Oscar Wilde.

Quiche for all.

Every man thinks of changing the world, but no man thinks of changing himself.- Tolstoy.

After close to eighteen years I finally like Quiche. I like this quote a lot and I thought in quite a shallow sense that it fitted perfectly with my new love of quiche. I need to find a dish that I can make that doesn't include pastry or my metabolism is going to catch up severely.

Run.

If you're are not too long, I will wait here for you all my life. -Oscar Wilde.

I want to go skating. I want to feel the wind rushing though my hair and cooling my blushing face. Though it isn't the same whenever I hear the Shakespearian phrase "run on your knife", I think of this feeling. I want to look back and see you analysing me. I want Summer and Spring.

Dearer than Pluto's mine.

Quite smitten.

'No, I don't think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.'
-Rhett Butler [Clark Gable], Gone With The Wind.
